Quite a large area.  Three species of otters in roomy enclosures, some partially inside the greenhouse. Other British mammals.  Uneven paths, slightly sloping site in pleasant woodland setting.  Run for the benefit of the animals not people.  Otter specialists, so many information signs about them.  Very friendly keepers, but often don't have much time to talk.  Very contented animals, good breeding record.  Much of the real conservation work happens off public show - such as rehabilitation of otter road traffic casualties, and other injured animals. Pleasant atmosphere, site not over-manicured, so much natural wildlife around.  Daughter site of The Chestnut Centre
